There has been a problem with the binaries generated by our build system (the importance of continuous and complete validation before releasing any update should not be underestimated ). The sources on Codeplex (http://www.codeplex.com/AWD) has been corrected and updated binaries can be downloaded from the following location: http://www.advancedwindowsdebugging.com/downloads/08comps.zip.

I'm having the same problem, except when I try to register the dll I get an error code of E_HANDLE (Invalid Handle) from regsvr32. I've tried debugging into it but the error goes deep into the RPC libraries. I'm using Windows XP SP2. 08comsrv.exe /RegServer seems to have no effect, the process just stays open for a while, then shuts down quietly and doesn't appear to actually register anything. I've also tried rebuilding the proxy, but I get errors of "unresolved external symbol DllRegisterServer" and the same for DllUnregisterServer

You should register the server application and the proxy stub DLL. The registration co mmand line as shown on the page 3 of chapter 7.

08comsrv.exe /RegServer

regsvr32 08comps.dll

After running 08comsrv.exe, I clicked the 08cli.exe and chose "0". However, I always got the following error message:
"Calling CoCreateInstanceEx ... failed"

I have tested this on Win2003, Vista machines with the binaries in "WinXP.x86.chk".
